Applications for the cadet executive staff for the 2023 Minnesota Leadership Academy (MLA) are now open through 17 July. We are looking for cadet leaders to fill the roles of:
- MLA Mission Support Officer
- ATS Commander
- NCOS Commander
- BCOC Commander
Cadet Mission Support Officer – Minnesota Leadership Academy
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with the MLA Director and Senior School Directors on any coordinating support needs for the schools in this activity.
- Leading and mentoring the cadet support staff members
- Coordinating in-processing, Graduation and out-processing with relevant cadet and senior staff
- Liaise and support cadet school commanders as needed
Cadet School Commanders – Airman Training School, Non Commissioned Officers School and Basic Cadet Officers Course
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Working with the Senior School Director to execute the designed school training curriculum for this activity
- Lead and provide span of control to seminar leaders – similar to how a Squadron Commander leads Flight Commanders
- Provide support to Seminar Leaders during the activity
- Liaise and work with the Mission Support Officer as needed
Cadet Mission Support Officer and Cadet School Commanders Requirements:
- Must be a C/Capt at the time of application
- Phase IV cadets with RCLS/COS credit preferred
- Previous MLA staff experience preferred
- Must be in good standing with home unit and MN Wing
Cadets interested in applying should have a CAP resume and letter of interest in PDF format ready to upload in the application. Your letter of interest should state the positions applying for and should define your vision and goals for the school(s) you are applying for

Applications will be reviewed and finalists may be asked to participate in interviews on 19 July.

MLA Staff Training Day is tentatively scheduled for Sept 9, 2023
MLA is scheduled for 19-22 October 2023.
